Join us at Ascension Seton Southwest Hospital to receive your Baseline Concussion Screening. Sessions are available each evening and are listed below.

Players will participate in a computer-aided test led by our Pediatric Neuroscience and Sports Performance teams. ImPACT is an objective tool to support trained healthcare providers in making a sound return to activity decisions following concussions.  ImPACT is a computerized test that measures memory, attention span, visual, and verbal problem-solving. ImPACT has two primary uses: before the onset of an activity, a baseline test is conducted to measure the athlete's performance baseline. In the event of an injury, a post-injury test is administered and compared to the baseline and/or normative data scores.

Test information: Players will test in a classroom at Ascension Seton Southwest.  Testing times are on the hour and will take 30-45 minutes to complete.

Who: Players that are 12-18 years old - there are no exceptions.  Your player must be 12 at the time of testing.  NO physical activity 2.5 hours before testing.  Testing should be before your athlete's training session or on an off day.

Why: Baseline ImPACT testing (pre-injury) establishes individual baseline scores that can be used for comparison if your child sustains a concussion (post-injury). Baseline testing takes 30-45 minutes.

Parents: Please register with your email address.  All parents will receive their player's Passport ID.  This ID number will be used by your provider to access your player's results. Reports are not issued at the time of testing.
